Yaganti is a beautiful place that is in front of the temple. There is a small pond of water that is called Pushkarini. The water in this pond comes from the hills backside of the temple. This water will come throughout the year.
There are quite a few cave temples there on Yaganti, adjacent to the temple. The three caves are called Agastya cave, where Agastya muni do his atonement to get blessings of lord shiva. Sri Venkateswara cave and Veerabramham cave, this cave Sri Pothuluri Veerabrahmam wrote some chapters of his prophecies in the kalaGnanam.
According to legends, crows do not fly in Yaganti. This is because when Sage Agastya was meditating here; Kakasura, the king of crows, had disturbed him from his meditation. The sage, in turn, cursed the crows not to enter the premises. Since the crow is considered to be the vehicle of Lord Shani, even he cannot enter the temple.
In this Yaganti temple in front of Lord Shiva there is a growing size of the Nandi. This is not just a belief held onto by some people but instead is a fact that has been confirmed by the Archaeological Survey of India.
