Sringeri Sri Sharadamba Temple: 

Sringeri is a holy tourist place for Hindus,it is located on the river bank of tunga at sringeri taluk headquarters in chikmagalur district of Karnataka in India. Sringeri is also called Sri Kshethra,the goddess Sri Sharadamba worshipped by Hindus. It is the site of the first matha Dakshinamnaya Sri sharada peetham established by Adi Shankara charya.Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada established the first of the four Amnaya Peethams1 at Sringeri more than twelve centuries ago to foster the sacred tradition of Sanatana Dharma.According to tradition, Sri Adi Shankaracharya, the principal exponent of Advaita Vedanta, established four peethas in India to preserve and propagate Sanatana Dharma and Advaita Vedanta. These were Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham (Karnataka) in the South, Dvaraka sharada peetham(Gujarat) in the West, Puri Govardan peetham (Odisha) in the East and Badri Jyotishpeeṭhaṃ (Uttarakhand) in the North.



Hallowed for all times by Sage Rishyasringa who stayed and performed Tapas here, Sringeri attracted the great Acharya with a remarkable sight.Tradition has it that after the Acharya had dispersed all the non-Vedic creeds prevailing in the country, He was on the look-out for a convenient and holy place where he could establish an institution to spread the truths of Advaita Vedanta. When Acharya came to Sringeri, he saw an unusual sight on the banks of the Tunga. A cobra was seen spreading out its hood over a frog in labor pains, to give it shadow from the scorching mid-day sun. Struck with the sanctity of the place, which could infuse love between natural adversaries, the Acharya chose this very location to establish His first Math.


People will be allowed into the temple from morning 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM to pray to the goddess Sri Sharada Matha. People will have to enter into the temple with Modest clothing. No shorts or sleeveless clothes.

Gokarna Mahabaleswara Swamy Temple:

Gokarna is famous for The Mahabaleshwara Temple,it is located in Gokarna district of Karnataka state in India.A 6 feet tall Shiva Linga here at the temple known as the Atma Linga is worshiped here. Built using white granite, it is a classic example of the beauty of Dravidian architecture.

 ADIYOGI STATUE, COIMBATORE:

Adiyogi Statue is located in the city of Coimbatore,Tamil Nadu. The statue is a 34 meter tall, 45 meter long and 25 meter wide steel statue of the Hindu God Shiva. The statue is recognized by the Guinness book of world records as the Largest Bust Sculpture in the world. The statue is located at the Isha yoga center, in the city of Coimbatore.the sculpture stands tall at the height of 112 feet.

The statue has a 3D laser show that tells the story of the history of Shiva and how the science of yoga was given to human beings. The show is available to visitors every day from 9 a.m. to 8 P.m. The show is free to visit.

LEPAKSHI

 


Lepakshi Sri Veerabhadreswara Temple:

The Lepakshi Temple is located in Anantapur city of Andhra Pradesh, India. In this temple lord Shiva is worshiped as Sri Veerabhadreshwara swamy by people.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is also famous for its architecture. The temple is built in a very beautiful style. The temple is very large and The village of Lepakshi is credited for artistic finesse of Vijayanagar Empire. Veerabhadra Temple is renowned for sculptures of archaeological magnificence constructed by the artists of Vijayanagara empire.

People will be allowed into the temple in normal timings morning 7:00 am to evening 7:00 PM.


The temple was built in 1530 AD by virupanna nayaka and viranna,both brothers who were governor's under the vijayanagara Empire and the famous sculpture of the snake on the Nagalinga. Local legend claims that the 'naga' was carved from a single block of stone while the sculptors were waiting for their mother to cook lunch for them.This serpent naaga shading the lingam sculpture is built by the both brothers virupanna nayaka and viranna.



One of the most peculiar things about the temple is its hanging pillar. It is suspended in the main hall which is said to be the hall of reception for Shiva and Parvati's marriage. The miraculous thing about the pillar is that  Among the 70 pillars of the Lepakshi Temple, this pillar is a salute to the makers of the temple. A British Engineer to know about the secret of its hanging in the air had made an unsuccessful attempt to move it which is the reason behind it dislodgement. To prove its uniqueness people often pass clothes from under it. 

The Lepakshi Temple owes its fame to the remarkable tourist attractions it has. One among these is the Durga Padam or seeta devi padam which makes the place more famous. 


 It is famous for its architecture. In this temple, lots of paintings are drawn on the temple ceiling. These paintings represent the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata. One of the big single stone nandi statues is located nearby the temple.Big nandi statue 20 feet in height and 30 feet in length,carved out of a single block stone,is located about 200 meters from the temple.
