LEPAKSHI

 


Lepakshi Sri Veerabhadreswara Temple:

The Lepakshi Temple is located in Anantapur city of Andhra Pradesh, India. In this temple lord Shiva is worshiped as Sri Veerabhadreshwara swamy by people.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is also famous for its architecture. The temple is built in a very beautiful style. The temple is very large and The village of Lepakshi is credited for artistic finesse of Vijayanagar Empire. Veerabhadra Temple is renowned for sculptures of archaeological magnificence constructed by the artists of Vijayanagara empire.

People will be allowed into the temple in normal timings morning 7:00 am to evening 7:00 PM.


The temple was built in 1530 AD by virupanna nayaka and viranna,both brothers who were governor's under the vijayanagara Empire and the famous sculpture of the snake on the Nagalinga. Local legend claims that the 'naga' was carved from a single block of stone while the sculptors were waiting for their mother to cook lunch for them.This serpent naaga shading the lingam sculpture is built by the both brothers virupanna nayaka and viranna.



One of the most peculiar things about the temple is its hanging pillar. It is suspended in the main hall which is said to be the hall of reception for Shiva and Parvati's marriage. The miraculous thing about the pillar is that  Among the 70 pillars of the Lepakshi Temple, this pillar is a salute to the makers of the temple. A British Engineer to know about the secret of its hanging in the air had made an unsuccessful attempt to move it which is the reason behind it dislodgement. To prove its uniqueness people often pass clothes from under it. 

The Lepakshi Temple owes its fame to the remarkable tourist attractions it has. One among these is the Durga Padam or seeta devi padam which makes the place more famous. 


 It is famous for its architecture. In this temple, lots of paintings are drawn on the temple ceiling. These paintings represent the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata. One of the big single stone nandi statues is located nearby the temple.Big nandi statue 20 feet in height and 30 feet in length,carved out of a single block stone,is located about 200 meters from the temple.


How to reach Lepakshi Temple?

You can reach lepakshi by train and bus.the nearest railway station is hindupur at a distance of 15 KM. from that number of buses are available. If you are travelling by vehicle it is a distance of 15 km from kodikonda check post which is located in NH44 Hyderabad to Bangalore highway.

The nearest airport is bangalore international airport at a distance of 100KM from lepakshi.

Sri kalahasteeswara Temple:

Sri Kalahasti temple is a famous tourist attraction located in the town of Srikalahasti,in Chittoor district in the state of andhra pradesh in India. In this temple god Shiva is worshipped as sri kalahasteeswara with gnana prasoon ambika devi.Srikalahasti temple,situated 36 km away from tirupati. In this temple lord shiva worshipped in the form of  vayu linga,one of the panchabhoota sthalams,representing wind.the temple also having different names as rahu-ketu kshetra,dakshina kailasam.In this temple rahu-ketu pooja is famous and this is the only temple in india which remains open during solar and lunar eclipses.Baktha kannappa was the famous devotee to sri kalahasteeswara swamy,he donated both his eyes to sri kalahastiswara swamy. This temple is located on the river bank of swarnamukhi.



When I was a child, I always loved going to the Sri Kalahasti Temple. It was always a hot day and I would love to go to the temple and see the beautiful statues of Lord Shiva. The temple was so beautiful and I always felt so blessed to be able to go to it. The temple was located in the town of SriKalahasti, in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple was originally built in the 6th century AD and the current structure was built in the late 1800s.

Timings to enter into the Temple:

The people will be allowed into the temple from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM. There are different types of poojas(rituals) and sevas will be performed in the temple.rahu ketu pooja one of the most important ones in all the rituals. 

The temple is home to different kinds of religious ceremonies. The most famous of these is the maha shivaratri ceremony, which is celebrated every year during the month of February to march.





A story of bhakta kannappa who worshiped the god shiva, Kannappa plucked out one of his eyes and placed it in the eye of Linga which was oozing with blood and tears. When the tears and the blood were still trickling from another eye, Kannappa decided to remove his second eye and placed one of his feet on the spot of the right eye of the Shiva Linga. Before he could pull out his second eye with the arrow, Lord Shiva appeared and restored his eye while granting him a boon to occupy a place close to him.

Kanipakam

Kanipakam Sri Varasiddi Vinayaka Swamy :

Kanipakam is a famous tourist attraction place in andhra pradesh in India.the Kanipakam temple was known as Sri Varasiddi Vinayaka Swamy Temple. It was located at Kanipakam in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple was about 11km from chittoor and 68km from tirupati. In this temple, the deity sat in the well which was always full of water.

 


According to history, three brothers were digging a well for water to their forming field with a weapon. It hit a rock. There he observed the blood coming out from the rock. The people of surrounding villages started to dig the well,they found the statue of Lord Ganesha and realised that it was a “Swayambhu Idol” of Swamy Vinayaka and their joy knew no bounds. Ultimately they offered many coconuts with all prayers modesty kneeling before the Sri Varasiddi Vinayaka Swamy and offered many sevas like Mangalaharathi etc. Even today, we can see the well surrounding the statue, which is always flowing with water. During the rainy season, water will overflow.

The temple was constructed in 11th century CE by the chola King kulothunga chola1 and was expanded further in 1336 by the emperor's of vijayanagara dynasty.The temple was constructed beautifully, it has a pond in front of the temple.

It's purely God's blessing for mankind to have Darshan of Swayambhu Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy in a queue. Ballari has an airport at Vidyanagara (35 kms from Hampi & Bellary) with limited flights. Hubballi is the next closest airport (217 kms) but Bengaluru is the major international airport (290 kms from Bellary).

Alampur Johulamba Devi:

If you're looking for a place to take a religious pilgrimage, Alampur is a great choice.Alampur is a famous tourist attraction in Gadwal district of telangana state. In this temple the goddess parvati is worshiped as jogulamba devi, one of the shakti peethas of astadasa temples of shakti(parvati devi). Alampur is located at the river bank of Tungabhadra river. At this place the Krishna river and Tungabhadra river both meet in a place called as sangam.



Alampur temple is also famous for Navbrahma Temples are a bunch of ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. You need not go elsewhere. In Alampur Navabrahma Temples are located at Jogulamba Temple. All nine temples are nearby and in the same campus. After the darshan of Alampur Jogulamba, We visited Navbrahma Temples and were blessed by Lord shiva.


These temples are constucted date back to the 6th & 7th century A.D. Even after a time span of 1300-1400 years, these grand temples still stand firm reflecting the rich architectural heritage of our country. Navrbrahma are 1. Taraka Brahma 2. Swarga Brahma 3. Padma Brahma 4. Bala Brahma 5. Vishwa Brahma 6. Garuda Brahma 7. Kumara Brahma 8. Arka Brahma and 9. Vira Brahma.The town also has a number of other popular shrines, such as the Pancha Linga Temple and the Maha Ganapathi Temple.

This temple was built in the seventh and eighth century CE. It is the meeting point of the rivers Tungabhadra and Krishna and is referred to as Dakshina Kasi and is also considered the western gateway to Srisailam.

The temple is open all the days in a week. People will be allowed into the temple from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM to look at the shrine of Alampur Jogulamba devi.




How to reach Alampur Temple?

  Alampur temple is well connected by train and bus,there is no nearest airport to Alampur. Alampur road is the nearest railway station located at a distance of nearly 9KM. If you want to travel by road,It is located 27 km from Kurnool and 15 km from NH44 highway,it is the longest highway in India. Buses are available from all the cities of both the states andhra and telangana.

Sarva Darshan is the free darshan where in the pilgrims wait for their turn to catch the glimpse of Lord in the compartments of Vaikuntam Queue Complex II. Tirupati is well connected by rail,road and air. Pilgrims can travel by bus from all major cities in India.people will reach renigunta,tirupati and gudur railway stations while traveling by train.

Renigunta is the nearest airport from Tirupati which is a distance of 30 minutes.
