Dharmasthala: 


Dharmasthala is a tourist attraction where the god Shiva is worshipped as Shri Manjunatheswara Swamy. It is a small town in the Western Ghats, and the temples here are considered holy by millions of devotees from all over India.


The natural beauty in the Western Ghats is amazing, and these temples have been designed to take advantage of it. The remote location of these ghatti (caves) makes them ideal for meditation. Archaeological evidence shows that there were 12 caves in the past; today there are only five left. There is also an aqueduct water project built by the Chalukyas (Virupaksha and Pulakeshin I) during the 8th century AD.The aqueduct water project is one of the most important projects in Dharmasthala.




People will be allowed into the Shri Manjunatheshwara temple for Darshan and Pooja at 6:30 AM to 11 AM,12;15 PM to 2:30 PM and 5 PM to 8:30 PM. 

Abhisheka and Archana to the lord Shiva will be Conducted between 8:30 AM to 10:30AM.

Tulabhara seva will be conducted between 8 AM to 1Noon. 

Tulabhara seva is conducted on all days of the week and required materials are supplied by the temple on displaying the receipt for the seva. Tulabhara receipt issuing  will be fixed on special days.


The Temple provides a unique experience for any traveller visiting the charming town. The Dharmasthala, which was built during 10th century AD and is the world's largest temple complex, is touted as one of the most sacred and important tourist destination in the world.Lakhs of Tourists will visit the temple twice a year (Jan-Feb and Oct-Dec) on festive occasions like Maha Shivaratri, Vasant Panchami...







Every one of the pilgrims, who enter the Dharmasthala for the blessings of Lord Shri Manjunatheswara, is offered free food .Every visitor is a welcome guest irrespective of caste, creed, culture or status.

Annapurna Choultry,a kitchen designed to feed 30,000 to 70,000 pilgrims on any given day.The kitchen was recently featured on the Mega-kitchens of National geographic channel as one of the most efficient and resourceful mass kitchens of India.

Dharmasthala being known for its hospitality as a lore, maintains high standards of cleanliness and organisations when it comes to treating the pilgrims.Dharmasthala Ganga, Kaveri and Narmada have been augmented by nine modern guest houses -Sannidhi , Netravathi, Gayathri, Vaishali,, Saketha, Gangotri, Sharavathi, Rajathadri and Sahyadri which have increased the accommodation capacity manifolds.

Tourists can travel by KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses to reach Dharmasthala from all over the state. Private buses or by their own vehicles to reach Dharmasthala

Mangalore Airport serves as the nearest domestic and international airport for tourists heading to Dharmasthala

Mangalore Railway Station is the nearest railway junction to Dharmasthala, situated at a distance of about 74 km. The railway station is well connected to all the major cities and towns in India. Travellers can hire taxis/cabs or take buses to reach Dharmasthala from Mangalore.

Dharmasthala temple is one of the most revered and revered temples in Karnataka,India.The road trip is the best to reach this place and the stay here can be done for a few days .There will be waterfalls inside and there are lovely woods that can be explored during the visit.
